Organization of the hunt, accommodation & permits for hunting

Conditions

Dear clients,

We would present the main points of our Business Terms and Conditions with the certainty that this will improve our cooperation and the quality of our service. The Terms and Conditions will tell you what your rights and obligations are after signing the “Hunting Agreement” and firmly confirming your hunting reservation. Our Agency will act as the journey organizer and as agent, thus undertaking the obligations arising from the laws, regulations and practice covering the field of tourism. Apart from the special conditions, specific to hunting tourism, some important conditions from the tourism laws are listed.
By signing the “Hunting Agreement” you confirm your agreement with the General Terms and Conditions of Business.

1. Hunting reservation, proceedings and calculation

Hunting Reservation – After choosing from our catalogue or our Web Site the hunting journey of your preference, please fill in the Enquiry Form and send it to us. By signing the Enquiry Form you have triggered our Agency to start working on the preparation of your hunting package. When you receive our concrete offer including the prices and journey itinerary, you will sign the “Hunting Agreement” and pay the organization fee plus the required advance payment as reservation confirmation.
Hunting Reservation Confirmation – The hunting reservation is considered confirmed upon the receipt by our Agency of the signed “Hunting Agreement” and paid organization fee and advance payment.
Hunting Proceedings – The hunting guest shall at any time carry with him/her personal documents, be in possession of a valid hunting licence and licence to carry weapons and act in accordance with the hunting regulations of the country where hunting is organized. Killing can only be made in the company of and after the permission given by the guide, or, exceptionally, if the guest is not accompanied by the guide, following the instructions given by the hunting leader. Should there be a kill carried out not in accordance with the agreed instructions, the guest is responsible for paying the reimbursement fee. The hunting guest is responsible for his conduct within the hunting area and for each and every discharged munition.
Hunt calculation – Hunt calculation will be made immediately after the conclusion of your hunt on the “Hunting Report” form. This report will be used to make your invoice. The Hunting Report must be filled in by the Hunting Area Holder in the presence of the Hunter, in Croatian, English or German. The Holder and the Hunter sign the Report to confirm its accuracy and authenticity. The Hunting report provides personal information of the Guest and information on the accommodation facility, harvest and trophy and possible misses with explanations. Any complaint will be accepted only if included in writing in the Hunting Report and signed by the Hunting Area Holder and by the Hunting Guest.

2. Responsibilities of the Agency as journey organizer and agent

Hunting Agreement – by signing the Agreement, the Hunting Agency undertakes the responsibility to provide the Hunting guest the services such as accommodation, transport, kill and other services, and the Hunting Guest undertakes to pay the services to the Agency at the set price.
The Hunting Agency as Agent – by signing the Hunting Agreement the Hunting Guest authorises the Hunting Agency to conclude on his/her behalf a Journey Organisation Agreement or any service agreement necessary to realise the journey, and the Hunting Guest undertakes to pay the agreed charge.
Travel Voucher – when the Hunting Agreement is signed, the Hunting Agency will issue a Travel Voucher to guest. The Voucher provides information on the guest, date of issuing and a list of services the guest intends to use.
Protection of the Hunting Guest’s rights and interests – the Hunting Agency undertakes to provide the Hunting Guest with all the services listed in the Agreement or the Voucher, and to take due care of the Hunting Guest’s rights and interests, in accordance with good business practice applying to those activities. The Hunting Agency will inform the Hunting guest on all relevant formalities such as visas, flight schedules etc. and carry out reservations at the Hunting Guest’s request.

3. Responsibilities of the Hunting Guest

Payment – the hunting guest shall pay to the Hunting Agency acting as hunting organizer or agent the agreed price for the journey under the agreed or usual terms.
Transmission of data – at the request of the Hunting Agency, the Hunting Guest shall timely transmit all data necessary to organize the journey. If the data is not transmitted in time, the hunting guest shall bear certain costs. 
Meeting the requirements set by the regulations – the Hunting Guest will take care that he/she, his/her personal items and luggage meet the requirements set by border, customs, sanitary, monetary and other administrative regulations. Liability of the Hunting Guest for the damages – the Hunting Agency is liable for any damage caused by him/her during the journey by disrespecting the provisions of the Hunting Agreement or the Tourism Act.
Compliance with hunting laws and regulations and customs – the Hunting Guest must respect all laws, regulations and customs covering the hunting activities of the country of hunting and must defray all the costs and expenses for disrespecting them.

4. Special rights and obligations of the Hunting Agency and the Hunting Guest

Increase of the agreed price and modifications of the programme – the organiser can ask for an increase of the contracted price in case modifications in exchange rates or transporters’ tariffs occurred after the stipulation of the contract. The Hunting Agency reserves the right to modify the programme and the contracted trip will be modified only in case of force majure. 
Traveller’s right to cancel the journey – the hunting guest can cancel the journey completely or in part at any time. In case of cancellation, the hunting agency will retain the paid organisational costs, and the advance money will be returned in accordance with the cancellation time, as follows:

  • more than 60 days prior to the beginning of the journey 100 %
  • from 60 to 20 days prior to the beginning of the journey 50%
  • less than 20 days prior to the beginning of the journey no refund of the advance payment

The right of the organiser to cancel the contract – the hunting agency can cancel the contract completely or in parts if special unforeseeable circumstances or circumstances over which the organizer has no influence occur prior to or during the execution of the contract.

Hunting in Istria

Hunting tourism is extremely popular and widespread in Istria. Over 240 thousand hectares are populated with roe deer, red deer and fallow deer, wild boars, hares, pheasants, grey partridge and rock partridge.

Istria has 46 hunting areas and 38 hunting associations whose members take care of 42 hunting areas and 13 hunting lodges. The remaining four hunting areas are leased to private persons or organizations.

Between October and the end of January snipe hunting is allowed in all Istrian hunting areas.

Necessary Documents

If you are coming to hunt game in Croatia, you must be in possession of a passport. Apart from that, you will need valid international documents clearing you to temporarily export hunting weapons; a licence to carry weapons, written invitation of the manager of the hunting area where you intend to hunt and the hunting card issued by Croatian authorities to foreign hunters.

Your hunting dogs must have an international pet passport issued by the authorized veterinarian office, confirming that the dog has been vaccinated against rabies. The pet passport must not be older than 6 months. The dogs must be marked by a clearly visible tattoo or electronic identification system, the so called microchip.

In case you have more than five dogs, you must apply for a temporary dog import permit from the Croatian Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (Ministarstvo poljoprivrede i šumarstva Republike Hrvatske).

Weapons

Every hunter can import into Croatia up to two rifles of different calibre, and must be in possession of an appropriate licence to carry weapons and temporary exports documents. When entering and leaving Croatia, weapons must be declared to the border police. The use of a semi-automatic rifle is allowed only if the semi-automatic rifle has a magazine which can be loaded with a maximum of two cartridges. Any hunting weapons can be used at a distance of more than 300 meters from the nearest house.

Ammunition

Each hunter cannot have more than 150 pieces of ammunition for a double-barrelled rifle or 25 pieces of ammunition for carbine rifles. The person in charge of hunting checks the size of shot before starting hunting.

Fallow deer and wild boar hunting requires a gun with grooved barrel. The minimum permitted weight of the grain is 3.24 gram (1000 joules) for fallow deer, and 8.20 (2,500 joules) for wild boar. Exceptionally, killing of wild boars is permitted by use of a bullet shot from a hunting rifle with a smoothbore firearm and the maximum allowed distance is 40 meters. Environmentally friendly munition is recommended.

Game and Trophy Exporting

Export of game is allowed only when the animals have been checked and certified in accordance with the regulations of the destination country.
It is possible to export max 10 kg with the certificate of origin issued by game warden.
